What is Compounding?
Compounding is the method of preparing customized medications to help meet unique physician and patient needs. This may involve preparing medications that are not commercially available or preparing medications for patients with special needs. For example, medications can be made that lack dyes, preservatives, or other ingredients to which patients may have an allergy. We also compound medications for “non-traditional” patients such as dogs, cats, and many other animals as well.
At Reams Drug Store, we offer a wide array of compounding services in our recently renovated state-of-the-art laboratory. We are a proud member of the Professional Compounding Centers of America (PCCA), and through this membership we provide our staff with specialized training in order to safely and accurately prepare each product. Moreover, we utilize an independent testing laboratory to ensure high quality products that our customers can trust and rely on.
